With fall rapidly approaching, it’s only natural that I’m looking to my beauty routines to see what needs shaking up. That means weeding out what wasn’t working or is starting to feel old (or is literally just expired and needs to be thrown out like ASAP) all while introducing new habits and products that help liven my skin and hair leaving me feeling refreshed and hydrated. I took a break from retinol this summer because I knew I’d be in the sun a lot. Retinol makes your skin more susceptible to UV rays, and even though I wear sunscreen, I still thought I should hit pause. With fall near, I’m starting again with this medical-grade 1% retinol for smoothing and resurfacing benefits. I use every single product in this line — which has revolutionized my skin. The Golden Rule minimized by pores and reduced fine lines within 2 days of use. I have recommended this to everyone I know. I’ve never been able to use a retinoid that didn’t irritate my skin or make me flake. This is so gentle but so effective. These people really know what they’re doing. — Samantha Holender, Beauty Editor
Customer review:
This is by far the best retinol I’ve ever used. My skin is smoother and more even with none of the dryness and peeling that I get from other retinols. The search is over, look no further!
As I said, my summer sun damage is real, so I need all the brightening help I can get. These pads are soaked in four different types of vitamin C. I’ve been using them for a while now, and I can see a visible improvement in my skin.
This product is indicated for use in the am and pm. I prefer it for evening use only. I was initially a little surprised by how bright yellow this product is. After I apply it, my face still has a yellow tint to it. My makeup covers it up completely, but I would be cautious if I wasn’t going to put makeup on. The other reason I wouldn’t use this product in the morning though is that it does not have any spf and I prefer to have spf on my face every morning. This left my skin feeling moisturized and plump. When u did apply it in the morning, the rest of my makeup applied nicely on top of it. It had a light floral scent that I didn’t mind at all. — Anna LaPlaca, editor
Customer review:
Fantastic product. My second purchase. It noticeably evens out my 63 yr old skin tone which has age marks and old acne marks as well. I am thrilled with the results. My skin looks so much better– even without makeup. I will keep buying CEO Afterglow. Also terrific moisturization.
Dermaplaning removes dead skin cells from the surface of the skin, revealing brighter, fresher skin underneath. It also removes peach fuzz, and come fall, I need that.
I think they intentionally make these dull so people aren’t slicing themselves up and overdoing it. It doesn’t remove hair like you hope either. BUT if you use them daily as part of you skin routine, it’s amazing what a difference in makes in skin texture and appearance. — Katie Berohn, beauty editor
Customer review:
I have been buying these for over a year and recommend them to everyone. I use them once a week after I shower and they work really well. These hair removers remove peach fuzz and dead skin cells even after using my Clarasonic in the shower. I tried cheaper ones and the cut my face several times. Definitely worth the money.
I recently had the pleasure of trying out Drunk Elephant’s B-Goldi Bright Drops, and I must say, I’m quite impressed. Let’s start with the positives: the packaging is absolutely beautiful. The sleek design and golden accents make it feel luxurious and sophisticated, elevating my skincare routine. Upon application, I noticed that the Bright Drops deliver on their promise of a subtle, yet noticeable, glow. My skin looked instantly more radiant, and the product provided a much-needed boost of hydration. The lightweight texture made it easy to blend into my skincare routine, and it didn’t feel heavy or greasy on my skin. I genuinely love the way my skin appears after using this product. It creates a lovely, natural luminosity that lasts throughout the day, giving me a fresh and healthy look. The subtle glow also makes it perfect for days when I want to keep my makeup minimal and let my skin shine through. However, there’s one aspect that I can’t ignore: the price for the amount of product you get. The bottle is quite small, and given the cost, I had higher expectations. While I appreciate the results and the luxurious packaging, I can’t help but feel that the price doesn’t entirely justify the size and the subtle effect it provides. So, if you’re considering purchasing the B-Goldi Bright Drops, be prepared to invest in a high-end, luxurious experience, but remember that it might not be the most cost-effective option for an everyday subtle glow. — Ana Escalante, assistant shopping editor
Customer review:
Not only does this product improve skin tone and radiance, but it also adds a really pretty luster to the skin, almost like an all-over highlighter. I’ll use it under other complexion products, like foundation and concealer, to amp up my skin’s glow.
I’d been hoping to find these in-store for a while, and finally I found one lone Wine Wednesday. My only disappointment: I wish there were more of these in stock, because I’d go back and get the Chai one, at the very least. The formula feels light and sheer. It’s not super pigmented, but more than the tinted balms are. These don’t last a super long time, but I’m someone who applies lip product something like 20 times a day, primarily because I’m obsessed with lipsticks and the like, so I enjoy applying this one. It’s got a faint scent, that kind of herbal-ish scent a lot of Burt’s Bees products tend to have, and there’s a hint of sweetness here, too. My only complaint (request) is that more colors are introduced. I’d love a blackberry tint and a sheer purple, maybe a red-brown color, too. —Eliza Huber, editor
Customer review:
It goes on nice, helps my lips, and is glossy. The color is not as dark as the Daisy color Tinted Lip Balm I have been using. It also is a smaller package for more money.
My summer sun damage is major, but I don’t want to wear a full-coverage foundation every day, so I’ll be using this new skin tint from Lancôme. It offers light long-wearing coverage and promises to smooth and blur the skin.
I really enjoyed this makeup stick. It is a 5 in 1 stick and it has surpassed my expectations. It has lasted over 24 hours on my face. Working out and sweating and this makeup still remained on my face and it didn’t budget. It covered up many flaws. It acted as a highlighter in certain places and as contour in certain places and also as a full coverage makeup. It also can be built upon and used under a full coverage concealer or under a medium coverage foundation. It has a very nice matte coverage. The matte color is very nice and fit well with my complexion on my face. The built in kabuki brush is a nice bonus. — Yusra Siddiqui, associate editor
Customer review:
This foundation stick comes in so handy for touchups and it matches my Teint Idole foundation perfectly. I can stick it in my purse in case I need a quick touchup.
I know this is called a primer, but to me, it’s more like a primer-skin tint-SPF hybrid. It offers sheer coverage that smooths and blurs the look of the skin (perfect for days when you don’t feel like wearing foundation), preps the skin for makeup (perfect for days when you do feel like wearing foundation), and protects the skin with SPF 25. What more could I ask for?
This is my fave tinted moisturizer that i’ve tried. The colors are very well done too. Im valencia in Nars Natural Radiance foundation and shade medium is my perf shade match. It sheers out if my skin is doing well or I can build it up if my skin is breaking out. This is very glowy on its own so if youre oily then i wouldnt reccomend but you can make this a natural glow with mattifying primers/sprays/powders. — Sierra Mayhew, associate editor
Customer review:
Product was easy to squeeze out just the right amount that you would want to use. Seemed thick at first but as I applied with my fingers it blended into my skin nicely and the color buffed right into my skin with out looking to dark or orange. The best part is the “glow” it gives your skin!!! Really impressed with the glow factor! I felt I got a light, natural coverage ..which is what I prefer with the glow factor of course! Definitely felt nice and hydrated on my skin and didn’t cause any breakouts throughout the day and taking off at night. I could see how they say it’s primer infused because it does act like a primer in blurring imperfections and pores. You definitely can build up the coverage I feel.
To fake a summer glow long after it’s gone, I’ll be dialing up my blush usage. I like this powder formula. It adds a foolproof touch of blendable color to my cheeks.
I am returning to BareMinerals blush. I loved Benefit Dallas blush, but as with most makeup, colors change. I’ve tried lots of other blushes, but always liked BareMinerals. — Mayhew
Customer review:
The most natural looking blush I’ve ever used!! Super flattering, easy to blend and very buildable—easy to go from a “hint” to a beautiful full flush.
This liptint is the best ive tried in a while. I like to blend the tint with my finger for the best blend. The more you use the more red it gets so it really has kore than one shade. — Morinia
Customer review:
For a liquid or cream blush, I’ll turn to this one from Benefit Cosmetics. I’m already obsessed with the shade Chachatint, which is a cool berry color, but I want to try the shade Benetint, which is a cool-toned mauve. Something tells me it might be the blush of the season.
I know this is expensive, but like I said, I’m not messing around when it comes to my fall skincare routine. It contains a blend of low and medium-weight hyaluronic acid, which hydrate and contribute to a more lifted appearance. It also contains a specific combination of Camellia Japonica Flower Extract, Zingiber Officinale (Ginger) Root Extract. Because of this, it covers all the skincare bases, making it a true multi-tasking product.— Natalie Gray Herder, associate editor, branded content
Customer review:
A bit too much fragrance, but the perfect amount of moisture for my skin (historically oily but changing to slightly dry due to aging). Tinted moisturizer/makeup goes on smoothly over this product. Price point is high, but the bottle lasts forever! Definitely one of my favorites ever.
My parched hair needs some serious hydration, so I’ll use this hair oil until further notice. With hydrating oils and Virtue’s hair-healing Alpha Keratin 60ku, it moisturizes, adds shine, and softens hair without weighing it down.
I’m already obsessed with the Clinique Liquid Facial Soap, a dermatologist-developed liquid soap, but this fall I’m going to use that in the morning and this iconic cleanser at night. The combo will be just what my dull, dehydrated skin needs.
I’ll use this prewash glossing product to fix my dull and damaged hair. It uses Zea Mays (Corn) Oil, Beta-Carotene, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Moringa Oleifera Seed Oil and Punica Granatum Seed Oil to condition hair, add shine, and repair damage. No.7 minimizes flyaways and frizz, while providing UV/heat protection of up to 450°F/232°C.
I have been using this product for the last 6 months and it has made such a huge difference. I had to always cut the end of my hair because it looked damaged, thin and dry and this oil changed that. I use it every night on dry hair just 1 or 2 drops is enough since I have fine hair. Since I do not have to cut my hair at the ends anymore my hair has gained length and looks healthy and shiny
I’m really intrigued by this plant-derived collagen body moisturizer. After a long summer spent by the beach, my dry, uneven skin needs some help, and I’m hoping this will do the job. The fact that it has a lightly fruity, sweet scent is all the more reason to add it to my fall beauty wish list.
I have the Osea oil but thought I’d buy this for my arms and legs. It is very moisturizing and I love the smell. I’ve been using it for a week and have noticed that my skin doesn’t look as dry and creepy?
Once summer is over, and I won’t be in the sun as much, I’m going to start using this body retinol to reap all the smoothing, brightening, and resurfacing benefits of my favorite anti-aging ingredient.
This product feels really gimmicky. I grabbed it as I was looking for a body retinol and saw this had turmeric, a product that works well for my skin. I was using a higher priced body retinol and was hoping this could replace it.
Anthelios Mineral Tinted Ultra Light Face Sunscreen Fluid SPF 50
We still need to wear sunscreen in the fall. Historically, I’ve been more into chemical sunscreens than mineral ones, just because I hate residue, pilling, and white casts, but this mineral sunscreen does none of that. Instead, it provides a smooth, glowy base for makeup. I’m obsessed.
I’ve been testing out sun protection products recently (mineral formulas only) and out of the few I’ve tried (Juice Beauty Oil Free SPF 30, Juice Beauty Stem CEllular CC w SPF, Stila BB SPF 30), I favor this one. I don’t like thick products that are hard to spread all over my face and this one isn’t. It is thin and blends well and is easy to get your hole face covered to get adequate sun protection. The tint is barely noticable once applied, but does give very minor color correction. Not as much as a tinted moisturizer would though. The color works for me and I’m fair.
With red, blue and orange LED lights, this mask targets both acne and wrinkles. I use it for the latter. In just 10 minutes per day, I’ve noticed a significant improvement in the fine lines and wrinkles on my forehead and around my eyes.
I got this as a gift for my birthday, this mask works great, I use it twice a week , i think it covers the face great , recommend this as an entry level led option.
Another device I want to get back to using is this iconic microcurrent one, which can visibly lift the contours of the face and neck. This starter kit has everything I need, takes five minutes, and makes my face and neck look sculpted. Yep, I’m buying it.
For even more moisture, I’m going to invest heavily in hair masks. This one is at the top of my list. It boosts elasticity, enhances smoothness, and deeply hydrates the hair without weighing it down. So, basically, it’s a dream come true.
I have heavily bleached and color treated fine hair and have been struggling with damage. I used the mask as instructed, and when I rinsed I was a bit surprised that my hair didn’t have that ultra smooth feeling like a lot of conditioners produce. I towel dried and went to bed on my satin pillow case. When I woke up, I had waves and volume that I haven’t seen since pre-bleach. Nothing but a trim will save my ends, but I have finally found something to counteract what I put my hair through!
Hydration is important, but so is a feeling of calm productivity when it comes to fall workdays. I’m going to keep this refreshing mint face mist by my desk for whenever I need a little pick-me-up.
Great toner/hydrator. Very convenient. The mist is awesome. With the heat we’re having currently, all I’m doing right now is cleansing my face and then spraying this mist. No need for anything more.
I want to get back into a healthy routine, and part of that for me is dry brushing every morning before I hop in the shower. It’s an easy way to boost circulation, enhance your skin’s glow, and feel a bit more vibrant on chilly mornings.
The Lake & Skye 11 11 Fragrance Oil Rollerball features a simple, yet bold unisex blend inspired by the teachings of Kundalini yoga and the color white. It is a sheer, clean and uplifting fragrance with an ethereal vibe. It is very suitable for the autumn scent.
This is my fourth bottle of this oil roller and I love it. It’s a Beautiful scent … light but warm. Love the control of the application… it’s my signature scent!
Scalp Revival Charcoal + Tea Tree Scalp Treatment Serum
Yet another Briogeo product I’m adding to my line up, this one uses revival charcoal + tea tree scalp treatment serum to soothe dry, irritated scalp. It’s just what I need when the cold weather hits.
Have repurchased several times, Hair would get all flaky the day after washing my hair and wouldn’t go away until I washed my hair again. Started using this after washing my hair. Can go 3-4 days without washing it again.
I recently tried these liquid eyeshadows, and I love them. They’re easy to blend, long-wearing, and highly pigmented. I know I’ll wear this soft brown shade throughout the fall season.
Seriously this stuff is amazing. i have most of the shades, and they blend so beautifully and dry down so smooth. you can make them opaque or sheer it out but they are so versatile. a little goes a long way and they show up on brown skin, which i was worried about. i hope they release a hot pink or magenta shade soon!!
This body scrub is heavenly. It has just the right texture of particles to deeply exfoliate the skin without irritating it (Pumice, Luffa Fruit Particles). It also contains moisturizing ingredients like pomegranate seed oil, coconut acid, acai fruit oil, so it’s not drying. It has a pleasant smell that makes my everything shower feel so luxurious.
I absolutely Love get peachy I use it as directed and then I rubbed it on my elbows on my knees. And the inside of my thighs. It’s one of my favorite Routines in the shower.
After exfoliating, I’ll reach for this silky body oil. It contains squalane, rosehip oil, and pumpkin seed oil—it’s like a hit of moisture for parched skin. Plus, it has a warm and spicy scent that makes it perfect for fall.
There’s no way I’m going into fall without buying a new seasonal fragrance. This one, from Ralph Lauren, has notes of mandarin, violet leaves, jasmine, woody oakmoss, and white musk, so it’s both woody and earthy—AKA the perfect fall scent.
I used this at hershey park since i forgot mine at home and i used the sample one of this that i found in my purse, and it lasted ALL DAY. I smelt so good like i just put lotion on leaving the amusement park and that has never ever happened before. Very soft and not overwhelming, i have allergies that get irritated easily, im surprised this did not trigger st all.
No more thick cotton towels for my hair. I’m going to swap them out with this microfiber towel, which wicks moisture away without roughening up the hair cuticle.
To embrace the fall vibes as much as possible, I’m buying this nail polish. In my opinion, it’s the prettiest fall shade. I learned about it from Hailey Bieber’s nail artist. If it’s good enough for her, it’s definitely good enough for me.
What Time Isn’t It? is a steely gray color with tiny slivers of silver. It’s very interesting! The formula is opaque after 2 coats and very thick. It remains sticky for a while so the dry time is long but it’s worth it.
