In the latest episode of her “Give Them Lala” podcast, reality TV star Lala Kent shared her thoughts on the recent Instagram unfollow from Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member Garcelle Beauvais. The unfollow came in the wake of drama involving Garcelle’s son, Oliver Saunders, and Lala on the hit show Vanderpump Rules.
Lala, 32, expressed that she had always liked Garcelle, 56, and that the situation involving Oliver on Vanderpump Rules had triggered her. Oliver appeared on the show during its 10th season while working as a waiter at Vanderpump à Paris in Las Vegas. His romantic entanglement with co-star Raquel Leviss raised questions about his relationship status with his estranged wife, Samantha Saunders.
Lala admitted to being wary of people like Oliver, stating that their behavior could be harmful to one’s mental well-being. Despite this, she stressed that she did not blame Garcelle for the situation. However, Garcelle later revealed that she unfollowed Lala specifically because of what she had said about Oliver on the show.
Garcelle’s decision to “protect her peace” by unfollowing Lala was met with understanding by fellow guest Michelle Buteau during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen. Lala, on the other hand, seemed surprised by the unfollow and said she appreciated anyone choosing to protect their peace, even if it meant distancing themselves from her.
As a mother herself, Lala acknowledged Garcelle’s maternal instincts in wanting to shield her son from negativity. She compared it to how she would fiercely defend her own daughter, Ocean, from any criticism.
Lala also clarified that Oliver was still married when the Vanderpump Rules drama unfolded, contradicting his claims of being separated from Samantha. Despite the tension between Lala and Garcelle, Lala acknowledged that Garcelle had always been kind to her and that Oliver’s actions should not reflect on Garcelle.
